Package for pieces
Frameworks was my first foray into product design. We were tasked with creating a Montessori-inspired premium educational desktop toy. Once we had designed and produced the toy, we created packaging and branding to pair with the product.
We started the project by designing the toy. I chose to design a modular construction kit based on the skyscraper frames being erected around my school dorm. The sliding pieces can help teach basic building physics. They are aluminum, so they stand up to intense play but are still lightweight and compact. The metal lends a premium feel. The logo is a literal interpretation of the frame concept. The package is made of a combination of book fabric, Tyvek, photo paper, and acetates.
